| Steve Shaver and the Shaver Motorsports/Cosgove Racing Team Finish 9th at Hagerstown, heads to Kentucky and Missouri | VIENNA, WV (May 2, 2007)- Steve Shaver and the Shaver Motorsports/Cosgrove Racing Team sponsored by Ludicrous Energy Drink competed at the Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown Maryland last Saturday in a 50-lap $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event. Shaver won the fourth heat race and started 5th in the 50-lap feature event that drew 58 drivers trying to make the 24 car field. Steve would advance to the front and was running 2nd by lap 28 and was in contention for the win. Steve would get shuffled back though during several double file restarts for cautions during the late stages of the race. Steve would finish 9th in the final run down.
"We had a good car and I really felt I had a shot to win and but my tires must have sealed over because the car just went away towards the end. We still got a top 10 finish and we were able to get the race in after looked like rain was going to cancel the event. Were 10th in the Lucas Oil Series points which is good to be eligible for their winners circle money which really helps out a lot heading to Kentucky and Missouri the next couple of weeks", stated Steve from his race shop in West Virginia.
Steve and the team will travel to Kentucky Lake Speedway in Calvert City, KY on May 4-5th for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned "Kentucky 99". The 99-lap feature event will pay the winner $24,999 and a minimum of $1999 to start the feature. From there Steve will travel to the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO for the1st Annual "Diamond of Dirt" on May 11-12th sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The "Diamond" event will also pay $25,000 to the winner at the Lucas Oil Speedway event on May 11-12th. In addition any driver that has maintained perfect attendance at every Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event in 2007 will be eligible for a $10,000 bonus if they win the "Diamond of Dirt" feature event paying one driver $35,000.
