Anderson Speedway postpones Saturday and Sunday Events | ANDERSON, Ind. (April 11, 2007) – Anderson Speedway has postponed the events scheduled for Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15 due to a forecast of rain, snow and cold weather conditions.
The Open Practice scheduled for Friday, April 13 will take place as planned. The pit area opens at 3 p.m. with open practice from 4 to 7 p.m.
“Mother Nature is not cooperating with us yet this season” says Rick Dawson, President of Anderson Speedway. “However, it’s Indiana and we expect it. The long-term forecasts are much better starting next week and hopefully the cold and wet start means warm and dry weather the rest of the season. As last week, we are not cancelling the events, rather postponing them to latter dates to insure our fans and competitors don’t miss any racing action this year. At this point, I do have to question Al Gore’s global warming theory” said Dawson jokingly.
The CRA Super Series Late Model event has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 9 joining the Figure 8’s, Lampco Federal Credit Union Street Stocks and KOIL Legend Series. The SuperPro Late Models originally scheduled for Saturday, June 9 will compete on Saturday, June 16. The CRA Street Stocks scheduled for this Saturday and the Ed Martin SuperTrucks scheduled for June 16 will be rescheduled at a future time.
The 8th Annual Glen Niebel Classic presented by Banjo will be moved to Wednesday, May 23 and will now be a 100-lap feature.
Anderson Speedway returns to racing action on Saturday, April 21 with the return of the ARCA Lincoln Welder Truck Series. The program will also include Ed Martin Auto Group SuperTrucks and Figure 8’s.
On Saturday Night, April 21, the spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with the racing program beginning at 8 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.
