Sunbelt Super Lates and Quick Kids head to Bronson Motor Speedway April 14th | Samsula, Fla. (April 11, 2007) The Sunbelt Super Late Model Series goes to Bronson Motor Speedway this Saturday, April 14, for the third race of the season.
Going into race three as the points leader is Tim Russell with one win under his belt at Citrus County Speedway, the first race of the seaon. Russell has gotten better and better with one win and one third place.
Following Russell second in points is the 2006 Sunbelt Super Late Model Champion Jeff Scofield. Scofield has one second place finish and one fifth place finish and has high hopes of repeating his championship in 2007.
PE Coach Brian Finney sits third in points after leading most of the Orlando race but settling for second to Russell in the last laps. Finney finished tenth at Citrus County Speedway.
Two of the rookies stand behind Finney in fourth and fifth, Corey Freed and Travis Cope. Completing the top ten in points are Perry Brown, Chad Pierce, Travis Towell, Blake Lehr and the Orlando Sunbelt winner Justin Drawdy.
Along with the Sunbelt Super Late Model 125 will be the new Quick Kids, Sportsman, Hobby Stocks and Thunder Stocks. A full program for the most diehard fan of racing.
Bronson Motor Speedway will hold an open practice on Friday night, Apirl 13 for all diviisions. Overnight camping is premitted for all drivers.
This will mark the first race for the Quick Kids after having their first school last Saturday, April 7, at Orlando SpeedWorld. Dick Anderson and Jimmy Cope were on hand to give the kids lessons and to help them prepare for their new racing adventure.
Matt Cohen won the race followed by Austin Stamper, Tyler Laing, Jason Pyros, Randy Anderson (son of Wayne Anderson), Thomas Warnett, Donnie Gray, Jr., Colby Clements, and Austin Carr. Three more kid trucks are almost done as the field grows bigger for these Quick Kids.
