RC Roper "The Racin Cowboy" and Team "Victory is Jesus" take Top USA Sprints Honors on Easter Weekend at Charlotte Coutny Motorsports Park | April 9, 2007 Fort Myers Florida
If there was ever a story book ending to a awesome race weekend this was the one to remember for veteran RC Roper and his Race Team of "Big" Gary Brown, "Lil" Gary Brown and Scott Steffe. "The Racin Cowboy" galloped to an impressive victory in the Team "Victory is Jesus" # V8 Maxim Chassis sponsored by Sticks Pest Control, Keels & Wheels Magazine and Westcoast Powder Coating. This Charlotte County Motorsports Park Win was Roper's first at his home track in a Sprint Car.More importantly RC will need alot of prayers because he will enter into Chemo Therapy treatment for Cancer early Monday morning. The Cowboy as they call him has been very ill for almost 2 years now. His ongoing illnesses have been a real big inspiration to his fellow racers and fans alike for his dedication and committment to God & Faith.
Roper was chased hard by friend and fellow teammate Mike "Wingman" Tharp in the Jesus 1 Gambler to make a 1-2 finish for the Fort Myers natives. Greg "The Jet" Leonard brought home a very nice 3rd place finish in his first outing in the Pooles Auto Body # 85 Shaw chassis. "Tiny Tim" George was spectacular driving daughter Suzanne George's # 1 Shaw ride. George and Dennis "D-Man" Misuraca's # 3d Sparkle-Brite Pools Schnee battled all night long back and forth in exciting fashion to round out the top five.Scotty Adema "The Fort Myers Flash" suffered fuel problems in the # 67 J & J Tommy Rice owned mount. Next race is CCMP on Sat April 21. Visit the website at www.usasprints.com for all the latest news and information.
