GOSSELIN HOPES TO MAKE “MUSIC” AGAIN AT NASHVILLE SUPERSPEEDWAY | Lake Wales, FL (04/03/07) – After strong runs at both Daytona International Speedway and USA International Speedway, Mario Gosselin can hardly wait to return to the Nashville Superspeedway for the ARCA 150 which will be held Saturday, April 7th, 2007 beginning at 12:00 noon CST. Mario has already compiled an impressive record at the 1.3 mile Superspeedway, including a win in last year’s fall ARCA RE/MAX Series race. He will be driving the same #12 DGM Racing Chevrolet that propelled him to the win last year with hopes of making some “music” of his own one more time in the Music City.
“Nashville is definitely one of our favorite tracks,” said Gosselin while making final preparations for the trip to Tennessee. “We always seems to run well there. As much as we love the place, the truth is we weren’t even sure if we were going to make it for this race until just a couple of days ago. Our budget has been really tight lately and oddly enough, we didn’t have a lot of success getting the needed sponsor support for this event. Anyway, everybody on our team really loves Nashville so we decided we are going to go for it and give it our best shot one more time. Besides, my girls (Megan & Madison) keep telling me they would really like to get another guitar for our trophy case. I didn’t make them any promises, but I can tell you this, if we are running with the leaders with 10 or 20 laps to go, you’d better hang on to your hat because it’s going to get exciting!”
Gosselin and his team are currently fifth (5th) in the points and are seeking to secure additional sponsorship support so they can compete for the series championship. Several of Mario’s longtime supporters returned for the event, including James Carter- Attorney at Law, Drawdy Brothers Construction II, Back-On-Track Chiropractic, Fixatire, Underwire.OTR.com, DGM Enterprises and Sticky-Stuff Graphics.
In 31 career starts in the ARCA RE/MAX series, Mario has 3 wins, 8 top fives and 13 top ten finishes. He has led 283 laps in 9 races and has 2 poles to his credit. In this year’s season opener at Daytona he led 21 laps before suffering a late race crash and finishing in 13th place. In last month’s inaugural running of the Construct Corps-Palm Beach Grading 250 at Lakeland, Florida’s USA International Speedway, Mario was once again in contention for the win until a cut tire cost him the chance to battle for the win and relegated him to a 12th place finish.
“We are hoping for some good luck to go along with all our hard work. Meanwhile, we would love to have and really need some additional marketing partners for this race and the rest of this season. We have space available if anyone is interested,” said Gosselin.
