FASCAR Tours Have a Busy Race Weekend Ahead | Samsula, Fla. (March 27, 2007) This weekend the FASCAR Tours will be very busy with a Pro Truck race at New Smyrna Speedway and the new Super Modifieds at Columbia Motorsports Park. This will be the first race of the season for both tours.
At New Smyrna Speedway, the FASCAR Pro Trucks will run for 50 laps of exciting truck racing. A nice field is expected for this race including Nevin Gainey and Mike Marcellino of Lake City and Chad Pierce of Orlando driving the Rick Bristol owned Toyota truck. Both old and new faces are expected. Along with the Pro Truck 50 will be the Modifieds, Sportsman, Super Stock, Mini Stock and Strictly Stocks.
New Race Director Butch Pierce is very excited about this race and expects the fans won't be disappointed. Pierce was named the new Race Director at the beginning of the year.
Pit gate will open at 2 p.m. with racing action at 8 p.m. Qualifying for the Pro Truck 50 will be at 6 p.m.
At Columbia Motorsports Park, the new Super Modfieids will debut with a 75 lap race. This is a new division of the Gulfcoast Modified Series. "We are looking forward to Saturday and hope the fans like our new division," said Rick Hall, director of the Gulfcoast Modified Series and the Super Modifieds.
"To help the drivers we will have open practice at Columbia on Friday night from 5 to 9 p.m.", said Hall. "Hopefully this will help the drivers get a feel for the half mile track."
Qualifing for the Super Modified 75 will be at 6:30 p.m. with racing action at 7:30 p.m.
