Drew Brannon Comes Up Short At Desoto Super Speedway | March 25th, 2007) - Drew Brannon has a friendly side bet going with his Dad, Bob Brannon. Drew must win a DeSoto Super Speedway Limited Late Model race and a Goodyear Challenge Series Limited Late Model race, to win an opportunity to drive at Bristol Motor Speedway in the August 4th, 2007 ARCA Series event. Crew chief and two time Southern Automobile Racing Association Late Model Champion, Bobby Beauthemin thinks that's a tall order, but it is possible. Along with Bob "Pop" Beauthemin, Sr., Fan Club President, Jamie Porto and Drew's Dad, Bob, they strive for perfection in an imperfect sport. The young 14, year old Brannon, was well on his way to completing the first leg of his two win mission Saturday Night, March 25th at DeSoto Super Speedway, when the right rear trailing arm was torn off the chassis. Brannon had sat on the outside pole and was the leader out of turn four on lap 1. Leading the next 45 laps in the Blue Bullet #08. Out in front by 8 car lengths, still slowly driving away on lap 45 when the trailing arm mounting area failed, the youngster held on for a couple more laps of racing, but was forced to retire to the infield to insure the car would not be damaged further in his efforts to maintain control. Next outing for the Brannon Specialties Race Team will be Bronson Motor Speedway for the Goodyear Challenge Series event on April 7th. Drew and the Team will hope to get back to Victory Lane and move closer to that Bristol opportunity of a lifetime.
