C.A.R.S. Motorsports readies for season opener for Fascar Pro-Trucks | C.A.R.S. Motorsports Media Orlando FL. 3-26-2007 - The Fascar Pro-Tuck series season opener is set for this Saturday night at the New Smyrna Speedway. C.A.R.S. Motorsports is preparing their #30 Toyota Tundra for action. The team, which in the off season retained its sponsorship with Toyota Industrial Equipment and Florida Lift Systems for another season, has worked on some things to improve its competition in 2007. Team owner Rick Bristol has decided to place veteran driver Chad Pierce behind the wheel. Pierce drove the truck in December in the Hopkins Family Truckers 200 and ran to a sixth place finish. Then during speedweeks he again drove, and from the sixteenth starting spot he was able to again notch a respectable sixth place at the checkers. "I am excited to have Chad driving my truck. I have a lot of respect for Chad and his ability behind the wheel. I have known Chad since he was a little guy. He has grown into a gentleman and a real good driver. I think we can have a great season together" stated Bristol. The team also has help from Southern States Toyota Lift and Battery USA in Lakeland. Bristol has put togther his crew guys from last season, Eric Reynolds and Mark Geisler with Chad's spotter and crew member Billy Grimes. "I think my guys did a great job last season as we learned a bit together, Billy makes Chad feel comfortable on the track and they have a good communication together. That is a key to success, and I think it will help us enjoy some success together". Rick will be crewchief for the team. The team plans to run for the Fascar Pro-Truck championship. Owner Rick Bristol will once again promote a Charity Truckers 200 in December. Last years event was a success and he plans for this years event to be bigger and better.
