Blackman Motor Speedway Joins Forces With StormPay | BLACKMAN MOTOR SPEEDWAY GIVE THE STORMPAY.COM WRS A TRACK IN THE SUNSHINE STATE
The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series has moved into the Sunshine State with the addition of Blackman Motor Speedway in Blackman, FL. Blackman Motor Speedway is located in the Florida Panhandle, and will operate on Friday nights during the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series season that runs from March 30 through September 30.
The Blackman Motor Speedway StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Crate Late Model Division will compete under the rulebook of the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series, and its drivers will be battling for two different point funds in 2007.
The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series gives competitors an opportunity to not only race for a point fund at their home track, but also a Regional point fund against drivers from other StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series tracks. The top drivers at Blackman Motor Speedway will also receive invitations to the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series National Championship Invitational Shootout at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS on November 23.
“Our Crate Late Model drivers are excited to be involved with the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series, and have the opportunity to compete in the Regional points with other drivers throughout the Southeast,” Blackman Motor Speedway Promoter Brandon Adams said. “We are reopening the track after it had been shut down for a few years, and we feel being a part of the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series will be a positive step in creating new awareness of Blackman Motor Speedway.”
Adams said the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Crate Late Models will be the top Division on Friday nights at Blackman Motor Speedway paying $750-to-win.
The engines for the dirt late models competing with the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Division at Blackman Motor Speedway are GM Performance Crate Engines. They are built and sealed at the factory to prevent competitors from making any expensive modifications.
The GM Performance Crate engines are shipped to GM Dealers throughout the country, and are readily available to be picked up and placed in the race car the same day. The aluminum-head 400 horsepower 604 engine sells for right at $5,000, and the steel-head 350 horsepower 602 engine sells for right at $3,000. The 602 engine also gets a 150-pound weight break.
“We’re excited to have Blackman Motor Speedway as a part of the expansion this year in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series that has now grown in all directions,” StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series President of Operations and Communication Roby Helm said. “The addition of Florida now gives the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series tracks in nine different states.”
