South Daytona Girl Makes Move to NASCAR | Owens Racing is excited to announce that The National Labor Management Cooperation Committee (NLMCC), The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) have come together to form ElectrifyingCareers.com which has signed on to be the sole sponsor of Alli Owens in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly racing series at Hickory Motor Speedway in North Carolina for the 2007 racing season.
Alli has chosen to partner with Lee Faulk Racing in Mooresville, North Carolina. From the years 1983 to 1989 Lee Faulk has participated in Busch and Winston Cup races. In addition to his vast racing experience, Lee has also worked with ARCA and Hooters Pro Cup Series and is now taking on the challenge of the Dodge Weekly Racing Series with Alli as their driver.
Alli is relocating to North Carolina to be able to work closely with the team and focus on her duties as a driver and spokesperson for ElectrifyingCareers.com recruiting new apprentices for the electrical field. Owens says “I’m really excited to have this opportunity to be part of a winning combination of sponsor and team.” “I’m proud to say that I’ve reached this point on my own. I feel that Lee Faulk Racing will be the team that’s takes me to the winners circle”.
With a bright future ahead of her, Alli looks to further her career in racing by climbing the NASCAR ladder to the Craftsman Truck Series within the next couple of years. Owens says, “I won’t forget where I came from and the people who helped me get there. I want to thank Brad Giles of Giles Electric for his primary sponsorship for 2006, Jamie Levy of Signs on Time for sticking with me and giving me some of the best looking racecars for the last seven years, Miller Leaman, Ideal Realty, Mike and Kristal from Finishline Racing School, John’s A/C, Kathy Bair, King Dome, Phil and Jean Figgins, Daytona 2000 for my web site, Robin at The Car Shop, Grandma and Grandpa and of course my parents, Owens Commercial Cleaning for all their help with my racing. In addition to my sponsors I would to thank Mark Eldridge, Paul Sheppard, Mark Comitale and Michael Frolio for helping in the early days of racing on dirt, Rick Tumey and Ted Vulpius for all their help with making the transition to asphalt in the mini stock division and of course Bobby Sears for keeping my late model on the track for two years, Nathan Garrow for his support at the track and Lyn St. James for being only a phone call away”. Also I can never forget all the fans that have supported me through the good and bad all these years.
