Cody Pitts sets fast time and finishes 7th at Charlotte County Speedway | C.A.R.S. Motorsports & Racer Marketing Orlando FL. 10-28-06 - Fast Late Model driver Cody Pitts would set the fast time and finish seventh after a up and down race. The Scarecrow 100 at Charlotte County Speedway would match the Fast Late Model teams against Charlotte's own Limited Late Model cars. Track owner Leroy Davidson made the Fast crate motor cars add extra weight just before the race which was not received well by the Fast competitors. But Cody Pitts who set the fast time 15.138, which was a new track record for the Fast Late Models at Chartlotte County, was not letting that upset him. After the inversion Pitts would have to start 10th on the grid. Early laps he was able to make a couple of moves and gain some ground. Then on lap 51 during a restart the guys in from of him would check up and Pitts made contact with Dalton Zehr. The incident bowed up the hood to where he could not see. He headed into the pits where the Coulter Motorsports crew helped remove his hood just in time to get back out as the green flew. Pitts would then charge hard up through the field to grab the seventh place finish. " I really have to thank my Dad for the changes for qualifying, after we talked we decided to change gear and a spring rubber and that was what got us the fast time. I also want to thank the Coulter Motorsports guys for helping me get the hood off and back on to the track" stated Pitts. Pitts is now in a tie with Spencer Taylor for the 2006 Fast Late Model Championship. The final event is scheduled for December 2nd right back at the Charlotte County Speedway. " I want to thank Autoway Chevrolet of Tampa, Autozone of Auburndale, Fransisco's Custom Paint & Body, Broke & Poor Surplus Building Suuplies, Pitts Stop #1 Muffler shop and Phantom Graphics for their support this year. They have made this possible. Thanks to my family for all they have done for me to be racing" added Pitts. You can go to www.codypitts.com for information on this hard charging young driver.
