David Reutimann and David Starr now to attend Hopkins Family Truckers 200

C.A.R.S. Motorsports & Racer Marketing

Orlando FL. October 13, 2006 - It was announced today that Rick Bristol has now confirmed Nascar Craftsman Truck driver David Starr will be attending the Hopkins Family Truckers 200 on December 8th & 9th at Orlando Speedworld.

" I am really excited to have David Starr attending along with Florida's newest cup driver David Reutimann. They are both great drivers and great guys. David Starr came through contacts I have where I work. We are a Toyota Forklift Dealer and Toyotaforklift.net sponsors the #11 truck owned by Jeff Hammond. I made contacts through his agent in Daytona and my boss talked to him at a recent meeting in Las Vegas. David told him he wanted to be there if he could and they have cleared that. We need to now just work out the times for both of them" stated Bristol.

" We are not done yet, as we have the opportunity for another truck driver and possibly two cup drivers we are working on now. This thing could be so wonderful, I want this to raise a lot of money for Tommy and his family" he added.

Some reminders to drivers planning to be there for this great event which features a first of its kind 200 Lap truck event for the Florida based Pro type trucks, pre-entries are due by November 1st and are $125.00. After the 1st they will be $150.00. The purse for the event featuring $2000.00 to win and $200 to start is around $12,000.00. There is $2,150.00 in lap money so far and another $600 in posted awards to this date.

" We really need the truckers to step up and come forward to make this thing huge, I know they will, they are a great bunch of guys. I have had the chance to officiate many of them and hang out and race with a bunch more. It should be a cool race".

Mini-cup drivers are donating there time to race to help raise money for Tommy Hopkins as well. They will compete on both nights. We will have legends racing on Saturday as well. Florida Series director Russ Thomson is working to get the word out to the drivers to show up in force. You can contact Russ at 407-857-0042 for more information if you race a legend car.

A great team of officials is being assembled to make this a professional and fair event. The race director will be Brad Hockaday, who has great experience with USAC, NASCAR and ASA. The tech team will consist of Head Tech man Ted Head of Auburndale Speedway, Carl Green, former FASTRUCK Tech Inspector and Don Hellyer, former FASCAR Tech man. They are a experienced, professional and fair tech team and will be sure the field is level for this event. Several other officials will announced soon including scorers and other positions. Announcing duties will be done by whom ever shows up. Speedway announcer David Westerman will be there but several other announcing friends of Rick's are invited to come have fun including Joe Linebarier (VSP), Bill Green, Larry Jewitt, Rick Anges. Give any of them a mic and let them rip.

A celebrity auction is being planned and worked on, it will take part on Friday night December 8th after the qualifying and mini-cup racing events. Music and BBQ will take place in the pits on Friday night after the events as well.

" My hope is to make this a gathering of the racing community, to have a great event, a lot of fun and raise funds to help Tommy continue his battle for life. Many of us have so much to thankful for. I am blessed with wonderful wife of 23 year and two terrific daughters. I just want to help Tommy and his family receive a blessing and some encouragement to continue fighting. They need our help, love and prayers. So many have already helped and offered to help and for that I am deeply appreciative. I pray a special blessing for all of those who will take part and help this family." explained Bristol.

You can see all the latest on this event at www.carsracermarketing.com or call 407-497-0448 and talk to Rick Bristol. A pre-entry form is downloadable on the site and all the rules, info and latest updates and news are there.

If you would like to donate to the family call 407-497-0448 for more info. If you would like to buy a lap, they are $10.00 each. If you can help sponsor advertising for the event, have stuff for the celebrity auction or need tickets call 407-497-0448. A ticket for both nights is just $20.00 if purchased by December 1st. Two day pit passes are just $45.00.

Come be a part of this great event, have some fun and help a great young man.
