| GOSSELIN GEARED UP AND READY FOR IOWA | Lake Wales, FL (10/11/06) - Mario Gosselin and his crew are headed to the brand new Iowa Speedway for the ARCA RE/MAX Series season finale, the Prairie Meadows 250, which is scheduled for this coming Sunday, October 15th. It will be a 250 lap race at the 7/8 mile facility that was designed by former Nextel Cup Champion, Rusty Wallace.
It is a race that Mario and his team are looking forward to competing in. They are hoping to turn their luck around and finish off the season with another win. During testing earlier this month Mario was quite pleased with his car. “The car was awesome right off the trailer,” said Gosselin. “We only made a few adjustments during the test session and never put on new tires. The car was quick and comfortable which is what I like. You never know how these new tracks are going to change with the passage to time, but hopefully we will still be in the hunt when we return this weekend. I checked the weather and it looks like it is going to be a lot colder for us this weekend so who knows. We’ll give it our best shot and see if we can’t get this It’s Mighty EZY Cleaner and Degreaser Chevrolet into the winner’s circle.”
It’s Mighty EZY Cleaner and Degreaser is returning as the primary sponsor for this event. Other associate sponsors include, Fixatire, Guaranteed Concrete, UnderwireOTR.com, James Carter Attorney, Back on Track Chiropractic and DGM Enterprises.
In addition to competing in the race, Gosselin has indicated that he will be making an appearance at the Checkered Flag Lightening store at CFL’s Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines, Iowa. There will be an autograph session and guests will be able to register for a chance to test their skills on CFL’s full motion stock car simulators against the ARCA RE/MAX drivers.
Practice for the event is to begin on Saturday October 14th at 11:30 a.m. Pork Pole qualifying is scheduled for later on that afternoon at 4:00 p.m. EST. The race is scheduled to begin on Sunday afternoon with the green flag falling at 1:30 p.m. EST. The event will be televised lived on SPEED beginning at 1:30 p.m.
