| Florida Mini Stock Challengers Have Three Shots Left | By Jack Smith
Robbie Storer has three shots left to catch points leader Chris Thornton, driver of the #24 Mini Stock.
The next stop is Lakeland's monster USA International Speedway, the Daytona of Florida's short tracks. Three-quarters of a mile long, USA has led many a racer to lose his motor or suffer other disastrous consequences.
Ealier this year Ronnie Larson won at Lakeland, with Thornton and Storer in second and third respectively. Larson led most of the 35 laps at Lakeland. But Storer has visited the Winners Circle four times in 2006, more than any other driver.
After Lakeland the series moves to Bronson Motor Speedway on November 4. In Late May Storer won at the "Bullring", but you can guess who gave him fits and finished second. That's right, Chris Thornton won in a race that befitted one of Florida's toughest challenges. See the race report for some graphic shots of torn up cars.
The final race is a trip to the high banked half-mile at New Smyrna Speedway in a 100 lap battle for the championship. The race is huge because it will have the biggest crowd all year, as the Governors Cup 200 is on tap for that night.
If you haven't seen these racers in a while, you have three chances left in 2006 and they all promise to be good ones.
