Pro Trucks head to Columbia Motorsports Park | Samsula, Fla. (August 9, 2006) The FASCAR Pro Trucks head to Columbia Motorsports Park and race no 10 of the 2006 season.
Along with the FASCAR Pro Truck 50 will be the Dan Nyhan Memorial (Open Wheel Lites), Super Late Models, Pure Stock, Sportsman, Hornets and TQ Late Models.
Going into Saturday night's race, it is Scott Bishop leading the points for the Pro Trucks. Bishop, who started out in the Quick Kids, won the race at Orlando SpeedWorld earlier this year. Bishop has 1039 points. Second in points is George Morales who is only 29 points behind Bishop. Morales has proven to be strong every race and is still looking for his first championship in Pro Trucks.
Caesar Bacarella is third in points with 830 followed by Kyle Eastham with 811. Eastham won his first Pro Truck race on July 2 at New Smyrna Speedway during the Clyde Hart Memorial. Right behind Eastham is another young driver Chad Akins. Chad has proven that he wants to win and leads the weekly Pro Truck points at New Smyrna Speedway. Recently Chad added a new Crew Chief to his team, fellow teammate Jamie Skinner.
George Gorham Jr. won the Desoto Super Speedway Pro Truck race on July 1 putting him sixth in points. Gorham has proven over and over again that he can definitely wheel a truck. Right behind Gorham is Scott Reeves who was hurt on July 22 at USA International in Lakeland.
Reeves was involved in an accident on the second lap of the race which put him in the hospital with knee surgery. Completing the top ten in points is Jarrad Cawley, Mike Bailey and Ricky Moxley.
Pit gates will open at 2 pm on Saturday with qualifying for the FASCAR Pro Truck 50 at 6:30 pm. There will be a one hour practice for Pro Trucks alone from 3 to 4 pm with division practice to follow for all divisions including the trucks.
General admission is $15.00, students and seniors $10.00, children 11 and under FREE.
