Staropoli over comes practice damage to take 5th at USA | C.A.R.S. Motorsports & Racer Marketing Orlando FL. 7-25-06 - Young gun Patrick Staropoli showed poise by recovering from a practice spin to climb through the field and take a 5th place finish in his first visit to USA International Speedway. The USA International Speedway hosted the FASCAR Pro Truck series. The track allows speeds of up to 130 mph. It quickly became Staropoli's favorite track. He first though had to overcome learning the speeds and handling characteristics that come with it. In practice Saturday morning the Star Racing #97 snapped loose and resulted in flat spotted tires and contact to the inside wall. The team went to work and fixed the truck but could only get 1 tire replaced before qualifying. The sizing was off and Patrick was real loose in qualifying. He would however still qualify 11th in the 27 truck field. The team made more adjustments before race time and they paid off as the truck was good. Staropoli used some perfectly times restarts to move his way up and made some great passes to then reach the fifth spot at the fall of the checkers. Poise was the word of the day for Staropoli the youngster, as he overcame a rough start to the day with a solid qualifying spot and a real nice top five finish. " I have to thank may Dad and the team for the hard work. I made it rough on them with the practice deal. They worked their butts off to get us ready. Its was nice to be back racing, we took some time off to get our program geared up. My dad works so hard to allow me to race, he is the best" stated Staropoli.
