Another Florida Driver gets a Summer Shootout win at Lowe's | by Dave Westerman
Florida drivers continued to make their mark on the Summer Shootout Tuesday night at Lowe's Motor Speedway near Charlotte, NC with Odessa's Paddy Rodenbeck among the winners during round seven of the ten week series.
Rodenbeck took the measure of the large field of Legends Car Semi-Pros in a wild race that ran just six green flag laps before the alloted time ran out. Rodenbeck moved his way past Austin Dillon, grandson of NASCAR Car Owner Richard Childress, on the final lap and took his second win of the Summer Shootout although this one was much sweeter as he actually got to celebrate in victory lane.
Rodenbeck's first win came at the expense of Darrell Wallace, Jr., who was disqualified after winning on June 23rd moving second-place Rodenbeck up to first.
Mt. Dora's Matt Bowers continues to hold on to the Summer Shootout Semi-Pro points lead after yet another strong fifth place finish Tuesday. Port Charlotte's Josh Williams and Kara Clarke of Palm Beach Gardens also qualified for the "A" Main finishing 11th and 16th respectively. Clarke didn't have one of her better nights with her Bandelero Outlaw car but did come home with a 15th place in the Outlaw main event.
After back to back wins, it was a tough road on Tuesday for St. Cloud's Brandon Thomson in the Legends Pro division. Although he had to start deep in the field, Thomson came home tenth after all the beating and banging were done.
Other drivers making their "A" Mains were Ryan Rust of Port St. Lucie(Bandelero Young Guns) with a 17th place finish and Maxx Bennett of Zephyrhills who took the checker 9th in the Bandelero Bandits.
