| More news on Tommy Hopkins and a Request | Hello everyone,
I'm sorry I haven't gotten a chance to write sooner. First let me thank you for your time and prayers. Tommy will be admitted to Shand's this Friday. He will go into surgery at 7:30 am. They will do a backup harvest of his own marrow and put in a central line catheter. He will start antiseizure meds on Sunday and Monday they begin the chemo. The antiseizure meds are because the chemo can cause seizures.
The chemo will last for 8 days and the transplant on the ninth.It will take at least 50 days to know if the transplant is working or"taking". He will be in Shand's approximately 2 months. After that, we go into a transplant apartment on Shand's property. He has to stay close to the hospital for 2-3 months after for frequent checkups all week and numerous blood transfusions
I have a couple of big favors to ask of you all. First and always, PLEASE continue to stand with us in prayer. Pray for strength, courage, wisdom, no infections, no rejections, little or no pain for Tommy and total physical healing for him.I still trust and believe the Lord is healing him and Tommy believe the Lord has healed him. He is a strong little boy with a big heart and he loves everyone. We need you to be vigilant and unceasing in your prayers. this won't be over in a day. It will be ongoing for at least 6 months. There is strength in prayer and power.
My second request is for help. If anyone knows ANYONE who has a laptop computer, old new, doesn't matter that can go online. I am desperately trying to find one to have or borrow. I need to be able to pay bills but more importantly, for Tommy's online schoolwork and so that he can talk to family and friends through webcaming and see how much they love him. He needs to be surrounded by love, prayer and faith.
Please have your friends, churches, strangers pray for this little boy. To the world, he is not special, to me and the Lord, he is everything. Thank you again for your love and support. I never realized how many good people were still out there.
