Pitts settles for runner up spot in FAST Late Models at Orlando | C.A.R.S. Motorsports & Racer Marketing Orlando FL. April 29th - After winning the first two FAST Late Model events, young Cody Pitts would have to settle for a runner up finish Saturday at Orlando Speedworld. Pitts who had qualified fastest the week before, just before the heavy rains came that postponed the event until Saturday night, would have to start at the rear of the 12 car field because of the previous race winner rule in the FAST series. Pitts would drive his tail off working his way through the field. He would not have an easy time of it this night as several drivers were running strong. He caught Sean Bass and had to work many hard laps to get around him. He then moved into second just before a caution bunched the field. Leader Spencer Taylor had a great car on this night and although Pitts gave him all he had he would have to settle for the second position. If you could win the first two events and then second in the Late Models at his young age you would have to be happy, right? Well, Cody is very competitive and wanted to win, he drove so hard he ended up being a bit dehydrated after the race. The safety crew at Orlando would get him some fluids and check him over. "I really wanted to win, the car was just too tight at the end. Congrats to Spencer he ran well tonight. We will get ready for Citrus and try again. I really want to thank my dad and Roland for their help. Thanks to Autoway Chevrolet, Broke-n-Poor Surplus Building supply, Fransisco's Custom Autobody, Autozone of Auburndale, Phantom graphics and to my Uncle Mike at Pitts #1 Muffler Shop in Auburndale. They have made this all possible and I really appreciate it" stated Pitts. This young man has shown great poise and driving skills in the first three races, they will now set their sights on the tight little Citrus County Speedway on May 13th.
