| Sunbelt Moves To USA International Speedway this Saturrday | By John Barker
USA International Speedway will host FASCAR Sunbelt Bright House Networks 125 super late model racing Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. on their three-quarter mile paved oval on this MUSCO brightly lighted track.
Following the super late model race Saturday night there will be a Southern Sportsman 35 and a Florida Mini Stock Challenge 35.
Chris Fontaine of Lakeland will pilot the Bright House Networks Chevrolet colors in this Sunbelt race following a third place finish at Desoto Speedway in his last AACS race after qualifying 14th. Overall in 2006, Fontaine has recorded three top fives and seven top tens in super late model racing.
“I’m very pleased that Bright House Networks have selected me to drive for them in this race,” said Fontaine. I’m still searching for my first win this year and once again it should be a very competitive field of drivers.”
Leading the early FASCAR Sunbelt point standings from first to fifth place are Jeff Scofield of Plant City, Mike Bresnahan of Inverness, Wayne Anderson of Wildwood, Jason Boyd of Orlando and Rick Pratt of Anthony. Fontaine is ninth.
Qualifying for Florida the Mini Stock Challenge cars and Southern Sportsman Series machines is at 8:30 p.m. on Friday night.
Practice by divisions is from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. FASCAR Sunbelt cars will qualify at 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon. There will be an autograph session at 6:15 p.m. Saturday night and pre-race ceremonies will be at 7 p.m.
Ticket prices run from $15 to $25 and children 10 and under are $10.
