C.A.R.S. Motorsports prepares for April 22nd Debut | C.A.R.S. Motorsports Media Orlando Fl. April 3rd - C.A.R.S. Motorsports of Orlando FL. announced today they will debut there new Toyota race truck on Saturday Night April 22nd at Orlando Speedworld as part of the Fast Media Extravaganza. " We had hoped to be ready for the April 1st American Cancer Relay for Life 50 at New Smyrna, but some last minute problems kept us from going" said Owner Rick Bristol. " We are trying to make sure we have everything in order for the first several races we want to run. I am excited about starting out at Orlando we have had some great success there and its the old home track". C.A.R.S. Motorsports has raced at Orlando for the past 7 years in the Mini-stock division and has racked up 24 wins, 66 top 5 and 28 top ten finishes. The team won the track championship in 2002 and was runner up in 2004. After a year off in 2005, Bristol plans to return to racing for two years. " I have made a deal with my wife that I will come back race myself for fun for two years and then we will turn our new enclosed trailer into a camper and go traveling to some races. She liked the idea, I think" laughed Bristol. The team will have backing from Toyota Material & Handling the #1 Forklift dealer in the world. Florida Lift Systems and Southern States Toyota Lift are also on board and are where Rick works as a service manager in the Orlando branch. " Jeff Fischer is the owner of the two dealerships and has gotten on board. I appreciate so much his help in making this happen. It is a great company to work for and Mr. Fischer cares for his people. I also have to thank my branch Manager Rick Pacanowski for his efforts in getting the Toyota co-op backing, he has worked hard and is excited about the marketing opportunities ahead". The team plans to run selected races on both of the Florida truck series. Rick has arranged to sponsor the FASCAR Pro Truck night on June 16th. It will be Florida Lift Systems night at the track. " I will have help from Bobby Orr, RJ Arnone and some guys from work, I want to publicly thank Mark Geisler and Eric Reynolds for long hours at the shop at night and to Johnathon Helton for helping with transmission and tires. I am looking forward to racing and having fun again. Rick also crewchiefs and spots for Mike Powers on the FASTRUCK series and for RJ Arnone his former mini-stock driver on Friday's at Orlando. The team will race April 22nd at Orlando and the 29th at Bronson Motor Speedway with plans for two races in May. As has been the case since the death of long time friend Pete Orr, Rick will run the #30 and decals in rememberance of Pete on his truck.
