Staropoli notches a top ten to begin his 2006 Season | C.A.R.S. Motorsports & Racer Marketing Orlando Fl - March 11th - 16 year old Patrick Staropoli took the step up to the FASTRUCK Pro division for the 2006 season and began well at the first event of the year. 27 Pro truckers would take there shot at the clocks for qualifying at the Charlotte County Speedway Saturday night. Staropoli would clock in 10th after it was all said and done. " We were chasing this new tire compound and got the truck a bit to loose to qualify" stated Patrick. He would start the event on the outside of row number 5 for the 75 lap grind. On the start he was hung out on the outside and slid back to twelfth before he could get in line. He then logged some laps and made a few moves in the middle stages of the event. A number of cautions kept the field bunched up most of the event. " The cautions seemed to come right as we got strung out a bit and wanted to try to make some moves. The caution closed us back up again and you had to keep your track position" stated Staropoli.
"We kept the truck in one piece and got back to a 9th place finish, we are pretty happy to start off with a solid run" he added. "We learned a lot about the new tire compound tonight and will be better at the next event". Staropoli is sponsored by Star racing supplies, Paul's transmissions, Haywood Plastering, American Auto Electric and Snap On Tools. The next event will be in two weeks, again at Charlotte County Speedway and the STAR racing team plans to be much better.
