Earl Pearson Jr. big Winner in World of Outlaws Late Model Series Event and UMP Winternationals

Dunn, NC (February 22, 2006)- Earl Pearson Jr. continued the second week of speedweeks with strong performances each night at Volusia County Speedway Park and picked up his first career win on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, a 50-lap $10,000 to win feature on Thursday night February 16th .The Lucas Oil Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports team owned by Carlton and Kemp Lamm was one of only two race teams that started the A-main every night at East Bay Raceway Park and Volusia County Speedway Park.

Earl was in contention for the win every night at Volusia County Speedway Park’s UMP and WoO sanctioned events, setting fast time on Tuesday and finishing 7th, 2nd, 1st, 3rd and 6th respectively in each nights feature events. By virtue of his impressive finishes, “The Hurricane” Earl Pearson Jr. was crowned the 2006 UMP Winternationals Champion. “It feels great to win my first career World of Outlaw Late Model series event especially in my home state here in Florida. I’ve won on just about every other late model series out there, but I really wanted to get a win on the WoO series” stated Earl from his home in Jacksonville Florida.

The Lucas Oil Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports team started the 2006 speedweeks off in defense of their 2005 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship at East Bay Raceway Park with impressive performances all week and finished 3rd in the final DART Winternationals Points Standings.

Earl and the team also left East Bay 5th in the standings for the 2006 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Championship. “This year was by far way better than 2005 as far as speedweeks is concerned.

We made every feature at East Bay, finished 2nd one night and were sitting 5th in the points standings heading to the next series event. I have to thank my crew guys for all their hard work and dedication to the team. Jason, Matt, Jackie and myself are really dedicated and focused on winning a lot or races and a third championship for Carlton and Kemp Lamm in 2006”, Earl went on to say. “I can’t say enough about my engine program and these Larry Wallace Engines. If we hook up all of this horsepower Larry is giving us, we will be hard to beat this year. I want to also thank Sunoco for their continued support of our program. Don and all the people at Sunoco are really great to work with and the added national exposure they bring to our series, it will be a great year for our series”, state Earl.

The Lucas Oil Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports Team will take this weekend off before heading to Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney South Carolina on Sunday March 5th. Earl and the team will compete in the O’Reilly’s Southern All-Stars sanctioned 60 lap $10,000 to win feature event. The Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports Team has a long history of competing and winning numerous events at the big ½ mile clay oval and looks forward to visiting the famous speedway again several times in 2006.

Earl and the Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports team would like to thank all their sponsors for their continued support in 2006. Their sponsors include: Lucas Oil, Dunn-Benson Ford, Dunn-Benson Racing Supply, Larry Wallace Engines, Sunoco Race Fuels, MasterSbilt Chassis, Tiger Rear Ends, Hoosier Tire, ALLSTAR Performance, K&N Filters, Bert, Afco, Butlerbuilt, Trick Race Products, Cizmar, COMP Cams, CP Pistons, Jones Cam Designs, Dyer’s Top Rods, TWM, Afco, PRC, CV Products, Xceldyne, Moroso, SHY Suspensions, Simpson, Stealth Carburetors, Jones Racing Products, T&D Rockers, Weld Wheels, Wilwood, Woodward, Hyperco, Hoosier Tire, ATL Fuel Cells, Oval Craft, Cizmar, Robert Yates Racing, Unifirst, Stuckey Enterprises, Rick Schwallie Photography, Xtreme Graphics, Panther Motorsports Design, ASI Racewear and WD Enterprises.
