| Fast Media Group Extravaganza Set To Visit Orlando Speed World | by Bill Green
Tampa, FL (Feb 12th, 2006) Fast Media Group is proud to announce the addition of Orlando Speed World to its 2006 "Fast Extravaganza" schedule. Making a small shuffle in the 18 race 2006 schedule, FMG managed to open a date that Orlando Speed World promoter Rusty Marcus could provide support.
This will be recognized by all the FasTruck regular racers and fans as an easing of tense relations between competing sanctioning bodies Fast Media Group (FMG) and Florida Association of Stock Car Asphalt Racing (FASCAR). Truck racers in Florida are really glad to see FMG get the opportunity to visit a FASCAR owned track. "Getting to race where FasCar Pro Trucks normally run, can only help the racing and competition level of both programs," related an excited new FMG Race Director, Troy Snipes.
The visit to Orlando could also give FMG the opportunity to make a few new fans in the Orlando heartland and hot bed of racing. Lowe's "Promoter of the Year," honoree, Rusty Marcus hopes it introduces new fans to Orlando Speed World. "The visit from the FMG Extravaganza will show case our track to an entirely new group of visitors," Marcus stated by phone. "Bring in the Fast Late Models and Fast Drifters will bring in some new faces, that we hope return on a regular Saturday Night basis."
The addition of Fast Late Models and Fast Drifters Formula DST is sure to make for an action packed night on the asphalt of OSW on April 22nd, 2006. Opening the season 5 weeks and 4 races earlier FMG hopes to see a lot of teams showing up for the Orlando date. "It takes a few weeks into the season before several teams have there race vehicles ready for competition most years. So we hope that we have 85 to 90 percent of our registered teams up and running by Orlando," explained an always up-beat FMG Promoter, Bobby Diehl.
I know several of our younger Fast Kids racers have never raced Orlando's asphalt, so the entire evenings events is sure to be the best in exciting action and a true FMG explosion of talent. Fireworks included for FREE! Speaking of fireworks, we just did a test and tune at Charlotte Co. Speedway on Feb 12th for the NEW Formula DST Fast Drifters and had 22 cars and drivers show up for the session. Lookout, 2006 is going to be a little smokey as these guys are not afraid to burn up some tires.
