Jessica Zemken to compete for the King of the 360’s Winternationals | by Dean Reynolds
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The first 360 event of 2006 season on the east coast kicks of at the East Bay Raceway Park on Jan. 26-28 for the Eighth Annual King of the 360’s Winternationals. The lone representative from the Empire Super Sprints (ESS) will be 2006 rookie of the year hopeful Jessica Zemken aboard the nativepoker.com sponsored Patterson Motorsports #33Z entry.
The young female driver has a mere half-dozen starts behind the wheel of a sprint car but what better way to gain valuable experience by taking on some of the best sprint car drivers in the nation. It will give her a much needed boost before she runs the full nativepoker.com tour for the Empire Super Sprints.
Two Beaber Built sprints with Jimmy D’s Speed and Machine power plants will be heading down with head wrench being Wayne Patterson as well as much needed help from ESS veteran Doug Emery and owner Tom Patterson. Sponsorship help will also come from M&W Aluminum Products, the maker of T-Bar torsion bars.
Zemken’s mount was voted best appearing at the Fort Washington Pa. Expo Motorsports 2006 but good looks doesn’t always mean success. “I real excited to go to Florida and see how I can do.” said the excited but also focused Sprakers, N.Y. chauffeur. “I know the key will be to time trial well. Doug (Emery) has been getting me prepped over and over again to become a good time trailer. I hope I can do well and hopefully qualify for all the A-Mains.”
The 360’s Nationals, which is a part of the ASCS National Tour, will start on Thursday night with a $1500 to win A-Main. Friday’s program is also a $1500 to win show with points setting you up for the Sat. $10,000 to win Ron Laney Memorial finale. Defending champion is World of Outlaws regular Chad Kemenah with other top drivers such as Gary Wright, Travis Rilat, Danny Martin, Kenny Adams and fellow New Yorker Bryan Howland expected to be in the field as well.
