ASCot East Bay Practice on January 25 | Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (January 17, 2006)- There will be a special practice session at East Bay Raceway Park near Tampa, FL, next Wednesday night, January 25, the night before the O’Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour kicks off the 2006 season with the Eighth Annual “King of the 360’s”.
The ASCoT practice session, which precedes the opening night of East Bay Raceway Park’s 30th Annual Winter Nationals, is slated to run from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. atop the 1/3-mile semi-banked dirt oval.
The current entry count for East Bay Raceway Park’s “King of the 360’s”, which culminates with the Saturday night, January 28, $10,000-to-win Ronald Laney Classic, has climbed to more than 50, with two-time and defending ASCS National Champion Gary Wright of Hooks, TX, among the entries.
Among those expected to challenge Wright for the expanded ASCoT crown in 2006, including ’05 series runner-up Darren Stewart (Bixby, OK), ’05 Most Improved Driver Sam Hafertepe, Jr. (Sunnyvale, TX), ’05 Rookie of the Year Tony Bruce, Jr. (Liberal, KS), ’03 series champion Travis Rilat (Forney, TX), ’01 series champion Zach Chappell (Talala, OK), two-time Knoxville Raceway champion Jake Peters (Sioux Falls, SD), Jerrod Hull (Sikeston, MO), Jan Howard (Byhalia, MS), James Mosher (Albuquerque, NM), thirteen-year-old Trey Robb (Newcastle, OK), Jesse Hockett (Warsaw, MO), 2005 ASCS Sooner Region champion Sean McClelland (Collinsville, OK), Cody Branchcomb (Sapulpa, OK) and two-time Sprints on Dirt champion Dustin Daggett (Portland, MI).
Other top drivers already entered for the East Bay opener include Terry McCarl, Kenny Adams, Jason Sides, Terry Gray and Sport Allen among others.
