| "From Behind The Mic" Moves On | KARNAC Staff Report
The "From Behind the Mic" Internet broadcast will no longer be heard on KGKI Radio Thursday nights. The show will still be heard on the Internet via Windows Media Player in coming weeks, but with some details still to be worked out, the day and times of the weekly broadcast will not be announced until next week.
Jack Smith and Bill Green will be producing the show out of studios located in Tampa, Florida. The broadcast team will continue in the direction of a national audience as its target market, with interviews and features from racers and promoters around the country.
"We were excited about the direction the broadcasts on KGKI Radio were headed, but we really need to be assured of full creative control in order to bring the best possible product to the race fans", co-host and KARNAC.com publisher Jack Smith said yesterday.
He went on to explain, "the Florida racing environment has matured to the point where there is no longer any need to seek controversy for its own sake. We sincerely believe that the best interests of Florida racing will be well served in 2005 in the direction of bringing factions together rather than creating or milking conflicts for salacious readers of message boards."
Several new features will be added to the format including writer John Berti for KARNAC.com and MotorSports News Network. Berti will be bringing fans up to date news and commentary on the Nextel Cup and the world of NASCAR racing, and will occasionally get into the local Florida scene.
Bill Green, well known for his popular Short Track USA radio show several years ago is looking forward to carrying on the momentum "From Behind the Mic" has generated in the KGKI studios.
Green explained, "we want to Thank Greg Kielma for giving us an opportunity to give something back to the local racers, while building a national radio audience. Also, a big Thank You to the fans for your support and continued patronage over the years of Karnac.com's Racing Talk Radio, Short Track USA with Bill Green and now, "From Behind The MIC" with Bill Green & Jack Smith."
KARNACMedia.com will be the place to catch up on the shows on an "on-demand" basis as well as archived interviews with racing peronalities from around the country.
