Florida Mini Stock Challenge 50 headlines Orlando SpeedWorld Program June 24th | by Jane Smith
Bithlo, Fla. (June 21, 2005) If the creek don't rise and the sun will shine, Orlando SpeedWorld will see plenty of racing action this Friday night with the Florida Mini Stock Challenge 50. Along with the Mini Stock Challenge will be the Open Wheel Modifieds, Sportsman, Super Stock, and Strictly Stock.
Dustin Deschamps leads the Florida Mini Stock Challenge in points followed by Robbie Storer. Chris Thornton stands third with Rick Sirmans in fourth and Don Faunce in fifth. Rounding out the top ten in points are Robbie Yoakam, Justin Larson, Ronnie Larson, Joshua Robertson, and Tom Zimmerman. All these and plenty more drivers will be on hand Friday night.
The Super Late Models will have the night off but leading the points when they return on July 8th is Jared Allison followed by Ronnie Roach, Mike Hinegardner, Eric Deffendall and Rich Clouser. Greg Brooke, Mack Hanbury, Bobby Fleckinger, Jeff Choquette and Dalton Zehr round out the top ten.
Corey Freed leads the Open Wheel Modified division in points with Jared Allison only 43 points behind Freed in second. Chuck Burkhalter stands third followed by Shain Held and Bob Beiler in the top five. Teri Bryant, Jason Boyd, Jim Flynn, Alan Bruns, and Jerry Artuso round out the top ten. 2004 Sportsman Champion Richard Hight leads the points once again for the Sportsman division. But only 58 points behind Hight and tied for second and third is Jeff Wright and Andy Nicholls. Timmy Todd Jr. and Charlie Vest round out the top five. Completing the top ten in points are Eddie Thornton, Doug Samion, Rip Dyal, Earl Beckner and Rusty Ebersole.
Jason Foster holds a 17 point lead over second place John Castro in the Super Stock division. Brett Woodley stands third followed by Bob Starr and Dave Wright. Johnny Brown, Ron Whaley, and Tom Vento stand sixth, seventh, and eighth. Robert Ward and Ray Mullis are tied in ninth and tenth with 147 points each.
Keith Lilley holds a ten point lead over second place Pedie Allison in the Mini Stock division. Although the division is off this Friday, a number may run in the Florida Mini Stock Challenge. Third in points is Sean Bass followed by Josh Hermann and John Cook. Michael Seay sits sixth and only two points behind Cook followed by newcomer Steven Emmanuel, Bob Miller, Scott Reeves, and Bob Delmastro.
Ray Brown leads the Strictly Stock division over Andy Richards, P.J. Mascaro, Tim Gibson, Bob Snyder, Robert Remus, Alvin Morris and Tim Logue.
Saturday night at SpeedWorld, June 25, the RE/MAX Legends, Bandoleros, Hurricanes, Racecars of Yesterday and Classic Cars will be in action.
Pit gate will open at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 24th and 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 25th. General admission on Friday night is $15.00, $10.00 for students and seniors, children 11 and under FREE. Saturday night admission is $10.00, $5.00 for students and seniors, children 11 and under FREE.
