Powers on a roll as they head home! | C.A.R.S. Motorsports & Racer Marketing June 4th - Oralndo FL. - FASTRUCK rookie contender Mike Powers has posted two great finishes in the last two races and is on a roll as he head to home track Hialeah Speedway. Powers would qualify third out of the 20 trucks taking time. After a 0 was drawn for the inversion he would start inside row two. At the drop of the green flag Powers chose to give a little and be patient. Gary Foxworth who started outside of row two got a little better start and slid into the third spot as Powers held fourth. Powers would ride there waiting for the 50 lap event to get to its late stages to make a move. A caution on lap 21 slowed the field for the fourth time and a lite rain began to fall. It got harder and many drivers expressed concern, but agreed to try to get to the halfway point. Officials restarted the race trying to get to lap 25 first but hoping to finish all 50. After the restart Powers knew time could be short so he quickly made a move on Foxworth grabbing third and chased down the top two trucks but the rain began to fall harder and track got very slick and officials made the decision to checker the race complete at lap 26. " You hate to see a race end when you have such a good truck, I feel we had a shot, but it was bad out there the officials made the right decision to keep us all safe" stated Powers. " I really have to thank Osmel Diaz and Cairo Lane for letting me drive this truck. I also want to thank all our sponsors for there support. I also want to compliment the track on a very nice facility, I have not been here in many years, but this place is great and the staff was very helpful to us and we will look forward to racing here again. I also want to thank my wife for her support and sacrifice letting me work the long late hours needed to make this team successful" he added. Powers will now be playing at home at the Hialeah Speedway where he has won Championships in the Cyclone division. The race will be June 18th as the FASTRUCK series rolls into town.
