Goodyear Challenge takes on Orlando SpeedWorld May 28, Sunbelt Super Late Models hit Columbia Motorsports Park May 28

THE GOODYEAR CHALLENGE LATE MODEL 100 MAKES THEIR FIRST APPEARANCE AT ORLANDO SPEEDWORLD, MAY 27

The Goodyear Challenge Late Model 100 will run at Orlando SpeedWorld this Friday night with plenty of Late Model action for any Late Model fan.

Some of Florida's finest Late Model drivers will be in the field including Joe Winchell, Rich Clouser, Chuck Burkhalter, Greg Kaouk, points leader Jerry Artuso, Bill Ostriker, A.J. Curreli, Frank Welch, Sam Watts and many more.

Also on the program will be the Open Wheel Modifieds, Super Stock, Mini Stock and Strictly Stock.

Pit gate will open at 2 p.m. with practice for the Goodyear Challenge Late Models ONLY from 3 to 4 with division practice to follow from 4 to 6 p.m. Qualifying for the exciting 100 lap Goodyear Challenge will commence at 6:30 p.m. Racing begins at 8 p.m.

General admission is $15.00, $10.00 for students and seniors, children 11 and UNDER are free. Orlando SpeedWorld is located between SR 50 and SR520 in Bithlo, Florida.

SUNBELT SUPER LATE MODEL 125

The "BEST OF THE BEST" Super Late Model drivers in the state will take on the half mile asphalt oval of Columbia Motorsports Park this Saturday night, May 28.

Wayne Anderson holds a slight lead over Jeff Choquette who is the leading Rookie of the Year. But leaving Choquette little room for a mistake is Jason Boyd driving the No. 92 Super Late Model owned by Dick Anderson. Daniel Webster, also a rookie, and Rich Pratt complete the top five.

Other drivers expected are Jay Middleton, Scotty Crockett, Fain Skinner, Mac Johnson, Ryan Foster, Jeff Scofield, Patrick Conrad and more.

There will be an open practice on Friday night, May 27, for the Sunbelt Super Late Model 125. Practice will begin at 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

On Saturday, May 28, pit gate will open at 2 p.m. with practice ALONE for the Sunbelt Super Late Model drivers from 3 to 4 p.m. Open practice will follow from 4 to 6 p.m. Qualifying for the 125 lap race will begin at 6:15 p.m. Racing action starts at 7:30 p.m.

Along with the Sunbelt Super Late Model 125 will be the Open Wheel Modifieds, Pure Stock, Street Stock, and Hornets.

General admission is $15.00, students and senior $5.00, children 11 and under FREE. Speedway is at I-75 exit 414 - turn south on Route 41 one block, take Otis Howell Road and speedway is on left 1/2 mile.
