Freed keeps momentum rolling, takes two in a row at Orlando

Orlando FL. - Corey Freed picked up his first career Modified feature win last week at Orlando Speedworld. This week he showed it was no fluke and grabbed his second in as many weeks at the the 3/8th's mile speed plant.

Freed would start fourth and finish second in the heat race. That would align him in ninth for the start of the 15 lap affair. By lap five he had climbed to the fifth spot using some inside and outside passing. On lap seven freed found himself in the second position.

Freed then worked hard on the leader Shane Held. Held got loose and opened the door as Freed grabbed the lead. After a late caution, Freed had some pressure from Jared Allison but was able to hold on for the win.

" We had another great car here tonight at Orlando. Dad and the crew really gave me what I needed to win. I have to thank them and my sponsors R.K. Edwards, Rudy's Auto Body, Orange Lake Building Materials and Central Florida Machine and Speed. Without them this is not possible" stated Freed.

Saturday night the team headed to the Tommy Patterson Memorial event at New Smyrna Speedway. The Pro Modified series has given Freed some challenges and after a 10th place at Bronson, the previous series race, Freed was hoping to improve on that good run.

He suffered a broken rear end in qualifying which placed him 26th for the start of the feature. He was able to soldier on to a pretty respectable 13th place finish considering the problems.

" We would have liked more but when you have problems, start in the rear and can salvage a 13th place you can't be too disappointed" added Freed.

The team will be back in action at Orlando this Friday night as they try to get three in a row in FASCAR competition at Orlando Speedworld.
