O'Reilly USCS Driver Adams wins Valvoline Cup for Sprint Car Drivers

FAYETTEVILLE, GA - O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series driver Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL was awarded the 2004 Valvoline Cup for Sprint Car drivers. Adams posted 23 wins last season, 16 of those coming in O'Reilly USCS National events. Adams also was the 2004 O'Reilly USCS Sunbelt Tour Champion.

The Valvoline Cup Award is the latest post-season accolade for the "Malabar Missile." Adams was voted by the fans to the First Team of the 2004 All Flat Out Magazine Team in the 360 Sprint Car Driver category from a poll conducted on the magazine's web site, FlatOutXR.com.

Adams was also the runner-up for the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame 360 Sprint Car Driver of the Year poll. Adams' team was also nominated for Team of the Year in the same poll.

Adams finished third in the 2004 O'Reilly USCS National points, and was the runner-up in the O'Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder points. Six of Adams' 16 O'Reilly USCS wins in 2004 came on the asphalt. Adams' O'Reilly USCS resume includes the 2000 National championship, and 73 a series leading
73 feature race wins.

With the 2005 O'Reilly USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour set to begin with an O'Reilly USCS Asphalt double-header on March 18-19, Adams' team is preparing for an all-out assault on two fronts.

Adams will pull into Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL on March 18, and Mobile International Speedway in Mobile, AL on March 19 along with his stepson and crew chief Bryn Gohn. Adams will be looking for second O'Reilly USCS National Championship.

Gohn, who finished ninth in the 2004 O'Reilly USCS National points, will perform double-duty in 2005. The 18-year-old driver will not only be wrenching the two winged outlaw sprint cars, but he will also be trying for the 2005 O'Reilly USCS Rookie of the Year honors.
