Racecar driver Frank Polimeda will have NO vacation while in Florida February 15 thru 19 | ATLANTIC CITY, NJ ~ Racecar driver Frank Polimeda may spend the week of February 15 through 19 in Florida, but he will little time to rest and relax in the sun. Instead, he will be racing in the Legend Cars Winternationals for five straight nights at the Orlando Speedworld three-eighths mile paved oval and instructing students in the “Green Flag Driving Experience” every morning on the same track. ”I’m really looking forward to that week in Florida, even though we won’t get much time to rest,” the Fort Lee (N.J.) Flyer said. “The Orlando Speedworld track is very fast and they get the best in Legend Cars racing for the event. The Driving Experience is also a lot of fun when you have the chance to put fans behind the wheel of a racecar. It should be a fun week.” Polimeda, who has tasted success in various forms of racing, recently competed in indoor events in a Midget racecar at the Chili Bowl in Tulsa, Oklahoma and in a TQ Midget in the Gambler’s Classic in Atlantic City, N.J. He is the 2004 Legend Cars champion at Wall Township Speedway in New Jersey, where he also finished second overall in the Modified division. For Orlando Speedworld’s Legend Cars Winternationals, Polimeda will be at the wheel of his title winning Joe and Bonnie Gist owned No. 40 Legend Car each evening. He will also use that car as an instructional tool that same week in the mornings in the “Green Flag Driving Experience.” The Green Flag Driving Experience, which has made it possible for hundreds of race fans to live out their dream of driving an open cockpit Midget racecar, a Legend Car or a Modified stock car during the last three seasons, will conduct morning classes in Florida at Orlando Speedworld from February 15 though 19, 2005 during the three-eighths mile oval’s Legend Cars Winternationals. To celebrate its instructor’s recent success, the Green Flag Driving Experience is offering a special discount rate for those who take advantage of the opportunity before February 10, 2005. Accepting most major credit cards, special pricing of just $149 and $249, depending on the type of car, for an individual driving experience is being offered. The certificates can be used at Orlando Speedworld from February 14 through 19, 2005. Participants in the “Green Flag Driving Experience” drive real racecars that are used in competition on a regular basis. Driving uniforms, helmets and other safety equipment are supplied. In addition to 15-laps of track time, students receive racecar technology, safety and driving instruction. Several feature winning and championship winning drivers serve as instructors.
