FASTRUCK Announces procedure and rule changes | FASTRUCK Series Orlando FL. - FASTRUCK Officials announced some changes for the series procedures and some rules clarifications and changes today. " We feel these changes are needed to improve FASTRUCK racing and to clear some gray areas in the rules " said Technical Director Carl Green. " We want to improve the racing overall and I know Carl wants to clear some tech rules up and make some minor changes. I think drivers will see benefits from the changes once we get going " stated Director of Racing Rick Bristol. The series first announcement was that Ocala had backed out of its scheduled dates for FASTRUCK. " We hated to hear this one, we were really looking forward to racing at Ocala , but they have decided to do something different. We told them that we were here they just needed to call if they change there minds" stated Series Director Billy Barstow. We will try to get an updated schedule out in the next week or so but we are working on some other possible deals. The next announcement has to do with some procedure changes. First it was announced that the Top 5 qualifiers will now receive points as follows 1st gets 5, 2nd -4, 3rd -3, 4th - 2 and 5th 1 point. All races will be 50 laps except the out of state races which will be announced as they draw nearer. Entry fee will be $100.00 per race and you will still need to purchase minimum 5 gallons of series fuel. The race lineup procedure will also be changed. The winner and second place drivers from the previous race will start no better than 11th and 12th at next race. If they qualify 13th back they start where they qualified. The fast qualifier will draw a pill of 0,6,8 or 10, determining those involved in the inversion. If the drivers to start 11,12 are in the inversion, those next in lineup will move up , but can only start in the last two spots of the inversion number. Teams will be able to drop there 2 worst races at the end of the season. If we loose to many races to weather that could be changed to 1, but plenty of notice will be given. 2004 Paid series drivers/trucks your numbers are held until first race after that they become available. To reserve your number you must send a minimum of the $150.00 truck membership by the first race. Another announcement was the points fund which will be as follows, Champion will receive a minimum guaranteed $2500.00, 2nd place will pay a minimum of $1800.00 and third a minimum of $1200.00. The remainder of the points payoff will be based on amount of races, trucks and other points fund-raisers. Series members running 75% of schedule will receive points fund money and/or contingencies. Now from the technical side here are the rules that have been clarified or changed. Shocks - Steel non-ajustable, may not have charging port or plug style. $125.00 maximum retail value, with $100.00 claimer. Center Link - May run adjustable type, original cannot be modified for safety reasons. Idler Arm - May be moved on frame but may not be adjustable.
