FMCRA Race School Graduates ready for 2005 Mini Cup season opener
Junior Allstars Division drivers Eric Cunningham, Seth Greco and Thomas Warnick recently graduated the FMCRA's Mini Cup Racing School last month. The program was put on by Series Director Tom Clark to teach the kids proper driving techniques, track presence and race car awareness, handling characteristics, driver conduct and sportsmanship. Each driver excelled in all areas of instruction and showed impressive talent.
Eric Cunningham, 14, from Vero Beach, is a student of John Carroll High School. He was racing a dirt track go-kart series last year when he decided it was time to move up to the Mini Cup Program. Eric is a big Martin Truex Jr. fan and is thinking of painting his Chevy Monte Carlo to look like the Bass Pro Shops car and running the number 83. He competed in part of the 2004 season and over came many obstacles in his rookie season. His goal is to obtain enough experience that one day he can get a ride with a Super Late Model team.
Seth Greco resides in the Brandon area and is a 5th grader at New Jeruselem Christian Academy. He too has go-kart racing experience but decided to move into the Florida Mini Cup series to take his racing career in a different direction. He debuted his car at the end of the 2004 racing season and adapted very well to the full roll-caged suspended race car. Seth has chosen to paint his car like the Nextel Cup #19 Jeremy Mayfield Dodge. Although he hasn't determined his long term racing goals, he loves to race and he's looking forward to the start of the 2005 race season.
Thomas Warnick, 9, from Ormond Beach, attends Pathways Elementary. After 3 years of Quarter Midget racing, Thomas felt Florida Mini Cup Racing would propel his racing to greater heights. He looks forward to competing in the Mini Cup series and has his sites set on the Allstars Series Championship. Wanting to retain his Quarter Midget number, Thomas decided to paint his car like Kasey Kahne's #9 Dodge Nextel Cup car.
