East Bay Raceway Park Gears up for 2004 Finale and 2005 Winter Nationals | By Bill Green "From Behind The MIC!" Ellenton, FL (Nov. 30th, 2004) Just 30 minutes or less from anywhere in the Tampa Bay area is one of Florida's premier race tracks. As luck would have it, it's made of Clay. Most of Hillsborough's 2 million plus residents, may have never heard of East Bay Raceway Park. But, everyone of the local NASCAR and Saturday Night stock car fans know's right where it's located. They follow the action right here on these pages. That's why I'm here to tell you more about the East Bay Raceway Park 2004 race season, IS NOT OVER! That's right, they've added three weekends of racing in December. December 4th will be a special $10 Adult front gate price, with kids under 12 FREE. This reduced rate Family Night will have the backbone of East Bay racing action, the exciting Street Stocks and Outlaw Fours. Also on tap for the program will be the daredevil pilots of the Open Wheeled Modifieds. These open wheeled machines fly into the turns at nearly 100 mph, slide around the corners side-by-side and must never touch wheels or someone's going for a wild ride. December 11th will be a special Features Only program and every class in action will have 5-laps added to their normal A-Main length. On the 11th fans will see the lighting fast Late Models and Limited Late Models, plus the Street Stocks, Outlaw Fours and Open Wheels return. But, as an added bonus you'll see the high-powered flight of the Winged Limited Sprints, as young 16 year old female Kart-Champion Susanne George from Venice, FL straps on a Sprint Car and takes on the "Big" boys. Including her dad, 2004 Track Champion in Limited Sprints, "Big" Tim George. December 18th looks to be a very good night to bring the family out to East Bay as you'll see the return of the infamous "Run-What-Ya-Brung" $2500 to win spectacular. That means you'll see a mix of Late Models, Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, specially modified Winged Sprints and scores of other want-a-be winners all racing at the same time. This final 2004 evening will also include a Demolition Derby and classic Roll Over Derby. the Roll Over Derby is a contest to see how many times you can roll your car over and keep going. It's Amazing! This will surely qualify 2004 to 2005, as East Bay's shortest Off-Season/Winter break in history, as the 2005 Winter Nationals Opens up on January 26th-29th with 360 Winged Sprint Car racing. Yes, four nights of 360 Sprint Car ACTION with names like Danny "The Dude" Lasoski, Joey Saldana, "Superman" Sport Allen, "The Hammer" Danny Martin, "The Malabar Missile" Kenny Adams and many, many more from around the country and right off the World of Outlaw Tour. Then on February 2nd-5th it's the 29th Annual 410 Sprint Nationals rolling on to the clay-by-the-bay. That action packed week is followed by a full six-nights of Late Model racing Feb. 7th-12th. Ending on the 12th with the Speed Channel taping of the annual Extreme Dirt Car Series 2005 kickoff. Open Wheeled Modifieds return on Feb. 15th-19th for there wheel-to-wheel battles. Than it's back into the regular season for 2005 at East Bay Raceway Park. East Bay Raceway Park is located 1 mile north of the Alafia River of US-41.
