Second, charity, bad night at New Smyrna!! | Rick Bristol / C.A.R.S. Racer Marketing Orlando FL. - George Morales and the Cheetah Race team would post a strong second place finish at Orlando on the 29th. The team then stopped by to support an Orlando Race Car Show and Food Drive to benefit the 2nd Harvest Food Bank on November 6th before competing at New Smyrna that night where they had the worst finish of the season. Morales drove a great race at the Orlando Speedworld starting 6th and then finishing a challenging second at the checkers. This helped add to a slim points lead in Fastruck. Saturday the 6th the entire team Cheetah race team brought their team to support a Race Car show and food drive in Orlando and donated several boxes of food. The team then proceeded to New Smyrna Speedway for a 50 Lap FASTRUCK series race, Morales would have to start from 19th starting spot as the second place car at the previous event. Morales used patience early to move up to eleventh by lap 29. That is when the first caution flew. On the restart Morales tried hard to gain some spots and made it to 9th. During one of those stints some contact was made with another truck and later a broken radiator would cost Morales and he would finish back in the running order. " This is the worst finish we had all season, we can't be all that upset over it. Things happen and we have been pretty fortunate all season. We will regroup for Ocala next week" said Morales. " We want to thank the PCS race team for there help this past weekend, they helped us out a bunch" said owners Damaris and Arnold Diaz. The team does now head to Ocala for a double points race that could really help them recover from a bad night. " This is the final stretch, we will work hard, I have got a great team and owners, I am blessed" stated Morales. Watch for an in-depth story on this remarkable first year team as they have been a factor in the FASTRUCK Championship as a rookie driver and team, and has earned respect from FASTRUCK peers.
