Second Leg of Triple Crown set for November 6 at Citrus County Speedway

by Jane Smith

Samsula, Fla. (November 3, 2004) Excitement fills the air as the second leg of the Triple Crown will run this Saturday night at Citrus County Speedway in Inverness. Fans will be in for plenty of non-stop thrilling action as Jeff Scofield, Wayne Anderson, Jay Middleton, Fain Skinner, Scotty Crockett, Rich Pratt, Daniel Keene Jr. and Brian Finney go for round two in points.

Jeff Scofield of Plant City won the first leg at Bronson Motor Speedway and leads Wayne Anderson by a mere five points in the hunt for the Golden Triple Crown Championship. But don't cross out Jay Middleton as he sits third in points and only five points behind Anderson. Any of these drivers, with a good finish Saturday night, could take the lead.

A number of Citrus County Speedway Super Lates are expected in the field along with Sunbelt regulars and a few new drivers that hope to compete full time next year in the Sunbelt Series. This mix should make Saturday night one heck of a good race
for the fans at Citrus County.

With only one more race after Saturday night's race, Wayne Anderson leads the Sunbelt Super Late Model points with 760 points over second place Scotty Crockett with 685. But Fain Skinner does not plan to give Crockett much room to rest easy as he stands only 31 points behind with 654.

With his third place finish last weekend at Bronson, Jay Middleton moved to fourth in points over Daniel Keene Jr. Only 18 points separate Middleton and Keene. Jonny Kay stands sixth but has been a no-show for the last few races due to hurricane work although he will be at the Governor's Cup. Dick Anderson is seventh followed by Rich Pratt, Mike Bresnahan and Sean Murphy.

There will be an open practice on Friday, November 5, at Citrus County Speedway for all classes. On Saturday, November 6, pit gates open at 2 p.m. with racing action at 6 p.m.
