Morales ties the King for the points lead in FASTRUCK | Rick Bristol / C.A.R.S. Racer Marketing June 5th Orlando FL. - Rookie contender George Morales has placed himself as a serious contender for the 2004 FASTRUCK championship. After another solid finish his best so far Morales has tied defending champion Tommy King for the points lead. With qualifying rained out the line up was determined by points and Morales would start the 75 lap grind from the third spot. Morales would finally run a complete race with brakes and all cylinders and would challenge for the win. " The truck was great and we finally got the engine and brake problems out of the way. I am so excited about this race team, we have fought off bad luck several races and been able to post good finishes. Things are now coming together. I have great owners in Arnold and Damaris Diaz and my crew is second to none, I am so grateful" said Morales "We are so happy with the season so far, even with the problems, we are right in it and we are supposed to be rookies. I really want to thank the crew they are great and work so hard, Chris,Shannon,Thomas,Joey and Willy, are what makes this team successful. Of course we think we have the best driver on the series also" said owners Arnold and Damaris Diaz. Morales would run a strong race challenging several times for the lead. He would run a strong second place to Dustin Skinner at the checkers. Morales and King both have 540 points and hold a 24 point advantage lead over third place Jeff Firestine. James Wright and Marty Zehr round out the top ten in points. In FASTKIDS racing George's son Joey would borrow a truck and finish 6th in the 25 Lap main event. The next event is at the New Smyrna Speedway June 19th and the points battle will again rage.
