Orlando FL. - June 1st - C.A.R.S. Motorsports becomes partnership and team sponsor Giovanni's Italian Restaurant hosts " Race Night Buffet".
Team owner Rick Bristol made the following announcement on Tuesday from his office. " I am happy to announce that I have given 49% of the ownership of my race team to Bobby Orr as a graduation gift. I am very proud of his accomplishment through some tough times. I know his dad is proud of him, Pete wanted him to graduate and make a good life for himself. I wanted to give him something he could be involved in and he adds so much to my team".
Orr drove the Rick Bristol owned car to a track championship in 2002 and has 13 career wins driving for him. The team now has RJ Arnone behind the wheel of the #30. The teams second car will be prepared and tested by Orr to be ready for the points chase down the stretch. Other driving arrangements will be announced later. The #88 car waiting on a new power plant from Bobby Sears who's engines have been in Bristol's cars since the end of 2001.
" I am excited to have Bobby join Rick on this team. I enjoyed competing against him and am glad to have him on my side now" stated Arnone.
The team has posted 1 win, 8 top 5's and 1 top 10 finish and although not earning any points the first two nights of the season has climbed to fourth place in the points and is just 12 from second and 78 from the lead.
" Bobby's job is to keep both the cars running up front and I know he will do it. He will handle things when I am away and that gives me confidence that RJ has what he needs to compete for wins and the championship" added Bristol
The team also wanted to invite local race drivers, officials and fans to join them at Giovanni's Italian Restaurant this Thursday June 3rd from 6-9p.m. for an all you can eat buffet. They will have bench racing, playstation 2 challenges in NASCAR and World of Outlaws and they will be showing old blooper tapes from Orlando and New Smyrna from past years and there will door prizes also. The buffet is just $5.99 plus your drink. The restaurant is located on the corner of Hoffner Ave and Conway Rd. in the Publix shopping center. The Phone is 407-852-9818.
