King takes second as an outsider

Orlando, Fla. (May 15, 2004) - Defending series champion Tommy King found himself an outsider Saturday night at Charlotte County Speedway.

The ASA/FASTRUCK series and Tommy King rolled into Leroy Davidson's new and exciting Charlotte County Speedway for 75 laps of door handle to door handle truck racing.

King would qualify 3rd of the 34 trucks, but by FASTRUCK rule would start from the 19th starting spot after finishing second in the last race. Dustin Skinner last race winner started 20th.

On the green King got a couple of spots quickly on the inside. Then King saw that the inside was bottled up so he began an assault on the outside groove, which is not the easiest way at Charlotte County Speedway.

" I knew everybody would be trying to run the outside and I knew I would have to get going to get to the front. My truck was really awesome it worked real well on the outside and we were able to work all the way up to second" said King.

Only 3 cautions slowed the race and it was noted by many as one of the best FASTRUCK races ever. " That was a great race and I want to thank the other drivers for the clean racing and the room they gave me on the outside everyone did a great job" added King.
