Arnone tightens up a second place finish | Rick Bristol C.A.R.S. Racer Marketing Orlando FL. - April 23rd - RJ Arnone would score another second place finish and continue to climb back into the points battle at Orlando Speedworld. Team owner Rick Bristol was attending a Baptist College banquet with his daughter and could not be at Speedworld Friday night, so he called on some friends to help. Former drivers Carl Green, who helped Rick get his first three career wins as a car owner, and Bobby Orr, who captures the Mini-stock track championship in 2002, stepped in to help Arnone for the night. RJ would win his heat race. After the other heat winner Bass drew the six pill, he would start the feature from the fifth spot. The inside row led by Simpson bogged on the start allowing the outside row and Bass to get out quickly, Bass got the lead and quickly opened it up. Arnone meanwhile with spotting help from Orr made his moves through the traffic to the second spot but found himself nearly a full straight away behind. Then with two laps to go the caution flew and Arnone now had a chance at the win. But on the restart Bass was able to get away and hold on with Arnone crossing the stripe second for the second week in a row. "The car on that long run just got to tight and it was worse on the restart so I had nothing for Bass. But another good solid finish and the points are coming back to us" said Arnone.
"I really have to thank Rick for letting me drive this car and trusting me with his equipment even when he is not here. And for getting Carl and Bobby to help tonight. " They both know there stuff and I enjoyed racing against Bobby and respect him a lot" added Arnone. " I am so blessed, I got to spend a wonderful night with my daughter at the Baptist College we both study at and the guys brought home another solid finish, the Lord has been so good to me" said owner Rick Bristol. " Carl and Bobby are some great friends and I appreciate them very much for there help tonight. Thanks to Chuck, Mom and Pop and Amy for all they do for this team as well. Mom Arnone won the 50/50 raffle and bought us tires last week. Thanks also to our sponsors Giovanni's Italian Rest,, BFS, Pennzoil, Cheney Automotive,Terri Orr's Remax Reality and Bobby Sears Race Engines" added Bristol. Racing continues next Friday for the #30 team at 8 p.m. at Speedworld. Have an opinion on this story? Post a message on our Message Board! or send a letter to the editor!
