George Morales posts solid finish at USA | Rick Bristol Orlando FL. - Brand new truck, first visit to USA, no brakes after lap three and a vibration after halfway, this describes the race for George Morales. After qualifying tenth of forty-four trucks and drawing the outside pole for the start things looked great for the Cheetah racing team. On the green Morales was hung on the outside for several laps then realized his brakes were a problem that he would face the rest of the night. After running to lap eleven, Morales had slid back to tenth, when he was hit from behind and made a great save to hold on and would gather it back in to run fifteenth. Morales would then settle in and climb his way back through traffic to garnish an eighth place, a great finish considering this is only his third FASTRUCK career start and first at USA. " We are so proud of George, he did a great job running all those laps with no brakes and we are so happy with a top ten finish at Lakeland" said owners Arnold and Damaris Diaz. "Rick I have to say a bunch of thank you's, first to my Owners the Diaz family for giving me this great opportunity. I have to thank my family for being there, my friends for coming and supporting me. I want to give special thanks to the crew guys that work so hard on the trucks to keep us racing. I especially want to thank Ed and Thomas Sapata for set up help on the truck and to my eyes up top Big Willy my spotter. And oh! I don't want to forget my son Joey who let me drive the truck he will be driving in the FASTKIDS division" said Morales. " I need also to thank our great sponsors Express Tire & Service,Metro Truck Collision and 11th Ave. Auto & Truck recyclers, without them we would not be able to do this" added Morales. Team Cheetah will now ready for there next event April 10th at the Auburndale Speedway. George and Joey will both be in action in the FASTRUCK and FASTKIDS divisions.
