Rich Clouser set to open 2004 Goodyear Challenge Series season

Orlando FL. - Rich Clouser is all smiles as he readies for the 2004 Goodyear Late Model Challenge Series opener this Friday night at the Orlando Speedworld.

Clouser, coming off a Championship run during the World Series of Asphalt Stockcar racing in February, was the 2003 Challenge series runner-up and Rookie of the year.

Clouser who drives for veteran car owner Bobby Sears has two well prepared Late Models at his call. They have deemed one a short track car, the other for the bigger speedways.

Clouser has momentum going into the opener and is at a track where he has won several races in different divisions and where sheer horsepower is not the total answer. A total package is needed to win at Speedworld.

Clouser and the other Goodyear Challenge Series drivers will qualify at 6:30 and will race for 100 action packed laps Friday night, racing begins at 8p.m.

"I am looking forward to getting started with the season, we think we have a great shot at winning some races and the championship this year" said Clouser. "We learned alot last year and will put it to use this season."

"I think Rich has a great mind set after being so close to the championship last year, he was great during the World Series and I know he wants this one" said owner Bobby Sears. "We will give him the best cars possible, then leave it up to him, my money is on him to get the job done" added Sears.

The team will carry Advanced Auto Parts and Bob Stanley graphics on board and are searching for other sponsors for the 2004 season.
