Island Starter Race Team a Hit On the Island

Sunday, Feb 15, the Island Starter Racing Team gathered at D. Coy Ducks Restaurant in Bradenton Beach to celebrate new sponsors, welcome old sponsors, and watch the Daytona 500.

The new marketing partners, the Anna Maria Island Sun, and D. Coy Ducks Restaurant, were very pleased with the team's cars appearance.

The Sun is teamed up with the #1 Florida Mini Stock Challenge mini stock driven by David Carlbert, and D. Coy Ducks sponsors the #11 the FMSC mini stock driven by Bill Carlbert, Jr.

Bobby Tingler's Anchor Inn sponsors the #06 FASTRUCK, driven by Bill Carlbert, Sr.

The team's other major partners are Jay Jay's Alternator and Hunt Electric Service.

The FMSC will run 12 races at 7 different tracks, including USA International, De Soto, and New Smyrna Beach Speedways. FASTRUCK will run 17 races at 7 different tracks.

David and Bill Jr., have been driving for 10 years, while Dad, Bill Sr, has been racing on & off for 25 or 30 years.

Bill Sr, who won Rookie of the Year in 2001, and finished 6th in points, hopes to give up racing, next year, to concentrate on being a team owner and NASCAR supporter.
