World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing heating up for February 6th Start Date | by Jane Smith Samsula, Fla (February 1, 2004) Rigs are beginning to show up at New Smyrna Speedway for the upcoming World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing, nine nights of rubbin and bumpin action. Some of the country’s best Super Lates Models, Late Models, FL/IMCA Modifieds and NASCAR Tour Type/SK mods will be on hand to give the crowd their fill of short track racing, Florida style. Over 30 Super Late Models have pre-registered with many more coming in that have not registered. Kevin Cywinski, Joey Miller, Jack Landis, Scott Hantz, Jr. Hanley, Wayne Anderson, Wayne Willard and many more will give their best to be the Champion of the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing. Drivers from Canada, Montana, Indiana, Michigan, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Ohio, North and South Carolina, Colorado will all join in the nine nights of racing and nine nights of working sometimes until dawn on their cars. Charlie Pasteryak, Ted Christopher, ever popular George Kent, George Boch and many more NASCAR Tour Type/SK Mods will be on hand for their famous bumping action. When these guys are in town, expect to see some very agressive racing as they race each other hard and strong. Starting February 6, the Super Late Models, Late Models, NASCAR Tour Type/SK mods, FL/IMCA Mods, Mini Stock, and USA Team Pro Challenge will entertain the fans with plenty of racing action.
Other divisions that will join in the action thru the nine nights will be the Sportsman, Super Stock, FASTRUCKS, TBARA Winged Sprints, STARRS and New Smyrna Speedway’s newest division the Thunder Roadsters. The traditional Richie Evans Memorial for the NASCAR Tour Type/SK Mods will be run on Friday, February 13 with the Florida Cracker 100 for the Super Lates on Saturday, February 14. Gates will open each day at 6 p.m. with racing action at 7:30 p.m. Grandstand seating is $20.00 with reserved seats at $25.00. Children 12 and under are FREE. Pit admission is $25.00.
