Lyn St. James Named Grand Marshall 28th Annual 410 Nationals | By Bill Green
East Bay Raceway Park, in cooperation with Q Motorsports Student Racer Scholarship Awards Program, is proud to announce racing legend Lyn St. James as Grand Marshall of the 28th Annual 410 Winged Sprint Car Nationals.
Lyn St. James has had 15 Indy car starts. She is founder of the "Lyn St. James Foundation and Driver Development Program," which trains young racers. Lyn has served as president of the Women's Sport Foundation (1990-1993) and currently serves on their Board of Stewards. Sports Illustrated for Women has named her one of the Top 100 Women Athletes of the Century.
Lyn is also the author of the critically acclaimed book, "Ride Of Your Life - A Race Car Driver's Journey." It is an intimate look inside the fascinating world of automobile racing. Lyn's book will appeal not only to fans of the sport, but also to anyone interested in her remarkable story of overcoming the odds. Books will be available at East Bay Raceway Park the week of her visit, but only while supplies last.
Along with her Grand Marshall duties, Lyn will be the keynote speaker at the annual gathering of Q Motorsports Family Student Racer Scholarship Awards Winners of 2003 on Feb 8th. Award winners will have the opportunity to talk with Mrs. St. James about their start in racing and gain inspiration on succeeding in racing.
Come out Feburary 11th, 12th, 13th or 14th to East Bay Raceway Park and meet one of America's greatest female drivers of all time. Autograph sessions are scheduled each day, with Lyn graciously providing a motivational talk on safety clothing and equipment at the Feb 13th, FREE Friday Bar-B-Q sponsored by East Bay Raceway Park at noon.
