FASTRUCK promoter Bobby Diehl announced yesterday via a telephone interview with KARNAC.com that the FASTRUCK racing series was "now an American Speed Association (ASA) endorsed series."
Diehl further explained, "the American Speed Association was so impressed with what FASTRUCK and the FAST organization had going on with all the Kash n' Karry that they are leaving all the marketing for their March 27th race at Lakeland's USA with us."
Diehl stressed the growth of FASTRUCK is so great the series is having a hard time keeping up with demands for new trucks. "I have five of my main chassis contractors, like Pletcher and Glover, they have gotten so many orders to build new trucks they can't get them done for speedweeks.
The first race of the 2004 series will be March 27th with the ASA at Lakeland's USA International Speedway, and a FAST kids program is in the works for later in the year, according to Diehl.
According to Diehl the "ASA has stepped up and embraced the FASTRUCK series", and the FASTRUCKS "are adopting some of the rules and policies of the ASA".
2003 series champ Tommy King is set to run a limited ASA schedule next year.
A "Winter Heat" series of races is scheduled with the first race at Auburndale on January 10 and another at Auburndale on the 24th. The FASTSPRINTS will first appear at Auburndale on the 31st of January. Have an opinion on this story? Post a message on our Message Board! or send a letter to the editor!
