Kenny Adams Crewman Killed Two Others Seriously Injured In Helicopter Crash

The Associated Press reported Tuesday afternoon Don Goodson, owner of Goodson Strawberry Farms, race car team owner and a major figure in dirt racing in Florida, crashed his helicopter near his farm south of Tampa.

William "Billy" Harter, Lakeland, Fl, was killed from debris while standing near where the heilocopter crashed. Harter was a crewman on the Kenny Adams' sprint car team.

Don Goodson is the sponsor of the Kenny Adams team as well as the Terry Gray teams which race in the United Sprint Car Series.

Donnie "Red" Taylor, crew chief for USCS Champion Terry Gray was aboard the helicopter with Goodson. He and Goodson were flown to Tampa General Hospital and are being treated with serious injuries.

According to the USCS, Taylor was in intensive care Tuesday night, after undergoing surgery. Goodson was still in surgery as of 8PM Tuesday.

Don Goodson has been involved with sprint car racing for several years, frequently sponsoring the Strawberry Dashes at East Bay Raceway, as well as other events and sprint racers. He is also known as one of the largest strawberry growers in Florida.
