Florida Mini Sprints visit Cochran Motor Speedway Sept. 27

The Florida Mini Sprint Association traveled outside of the state to the Cotton Fields of Cochran Georgia at the Fast Cochran Motor Speedway presented by Paul’s Budget Truck Rental of Macon Georgia. The Florida Mini Sprint Association was also on the Central Georgia Channel 13 News with a video coverage clip of Ed James driving the #46 Budget Blinds Bailey Chassis of Macon Georgia.

The 1st. heat race started out with the #19T of Matt Tiffany and the #19 of Mike Thomas on the front row. Once the green flag dropped the #19 of Mike Thomas took the lead with the #71 of John Craddock following in a close second. John Made the pass on Mike Thomas on Lap 3 to take the point and the #19T of Matt Tiffany and #19 of Mike Thomas would battle it out for the second position. Matt Tiffany would take over the second spot on Lap 5 with the #2 of Allen Craig moving up to 4th. on lap 6 . John Craddock driving the #71 D&K Motorsports Bailey Chassis would go on to take the Heat Race Win with Matt Tiffany in the #19T on7 2nd. and the #19 of Mike Thomas in 3rd.

The 2nd. Heat race lined up with the #24 of Tom Blackburn and #3x of Alex Mills starting up front. Tom Blackburn took the early lead with the #86 of Russ Heider following his path. By Lap 3 the #5 of Steve Crabtree made his way pass the #86 for the second spot and also passed the #24 for the lead on Lap 5 on the outside down the front straight-away. Steve Crabtree in the D&H Radiator would go on to Win the Heat Race with the #24 of Tom Blackburn in second and the #86 of Russ Heider in 3rd.

The Feature Event would line up with the #69 of TJ (Heider) Raymond and the #24 of Tom Blackburn on the front row starting spot. The #24 of Tom Blackburn took the early lead until Ed James driving the #46 made the pass on Lap 2 to take the top spot. From the back of the field the #7 of Jesse Teed made his way up to the 3rd. position on the outside. Ed James would led the race with the #7 of Jesse Teed taking the second spot on Lap 5 with a caution flag flying on Lap 7 for the #3X of Alex Mills spinning out in Turn 1&2. Once the race restarted the #7 of Jesse Teed would make a slide job on Ed James in turn 1&2 to take the lead. John Craddock driving the #71 passed the #46 on Lap 10 to take over the second spot with the #46 in 3rd., #19 of Mike Thomas in 4th. and the #20 of Harold Matthews in 5th. The #19 of Mike Thomas would come to a stop on the front stretch with motor problems to bring out the caution flag. Jesse Teed would restart the field for the last 5 Laps with the #20 of Harold Matthews running on the bottom of the track taking over the 3rd. spot on Lap 11. The #7 of Jesse Teed in the Full Spectrum Racing T-Bone Chassis would go on to Win the Feature Event with the #71 of John Craddock in second, the #20 of Harold Matthews would round out the Top 3. The #19T would make a last Lap pass to take over the 4th.position over Ed James in the #46 who would go on to take the 5th. spot.
